Northern Irish Death Metal quintet REX SHACHATH unleash their thundering first record “Sepulchral Torment” this Friday, 07th September 2012 via Hostile Media Records.
In a recent interview the band commented on the upcoming release, ‘We were really happy with the end result on the record and so far, the feedback from the press has been great… it’s well and truly exceeded all our expectations so we can’t wait to really get it out there!’
Although only being together less than one full year, REX SHACHATH are pulling together a strong legion of followers at a rapid rate and unlike many bands in the confines of an island such as Ireland they’re garnering attention on a much wider scale. Old school Death Metal in this day and age isn’t exactly setting the musical world on fire but that was never what REX SHACHATH set out to do. They wear their influences on their sleeves and never claim to be anything else other than what it really is. This is an honest band, straight to the point with no room for bullshit but more importantly, musically REX SHACHATH paint a tired and worn genre with a modern flourish of finesse and an ear for good tunes. Catchy riffs and old school solo’s, fervent drums and a vocal onslaught captures the listener from the get go and this is how REX SHACHATH stand apart from the throng.
On stage this band will ensure annihilation of everything stood before it and it’s coming soon. Following up from a successful, debut public appearance last week at The Pint in Dublin, the band will mark the launch of the record with a special show in their hometown of Belfast with UK heavyweights THE ROTTED before embarking on the Pestilence Procession Tour, a two week long trek across the UK.
