SARITAP “Sorcerers Of The Seven Gods” [Self-released demo 2014]
There are many releases these days, and some are eventually slipping by a lot of ears – one that slipped by my ears when it was released, is “Sorcerers Of The Seven Gods” by the Bulgarian one man army SARITAP. Dromichaetes is writing the music and handling guitars and vocals and is having Alexander helping out on drums, who I guess is the same Alexander who also handled both mixing and mastering of the demo, which is handled quite well, as the sound is dark and murky with good energy, fitting SARITAP’s raw and cold Black Metal really well.
The demo was first released digitally, and it can stil be found on Bandcamp, though it was soon picked up for limited tape releases, first by Terozin Mag & Tapes, which I can’t find much info about, and a little later by Iron Bonehead Productions, which released the tape in 300 copies and it is still available at their webshop.
Dark and raw Black Metal with a well dosed atmospheric touch, grim heavily reverbed vocals, that works like a charm in this universe and adds to the darkness and evil. The music is well composed, it catches on to you right away, and keeps you enticed through out the four songs. The rhythm section is quite simplistic, but again, it works perfectly here, as the guitars makes up for the minimalistic approach to the drumming, and then the vocals add the crushing top layer, well written and performed music.
Again a demo that displays a band with energy and the will, to deliver some heartfelt and intense Black Metal with the right feel and atmosphere, grim and raw in all its beauty – 4 tracks of utter cold darkness and evil.
